A lighthouse in the raging see! It is what I think when consider and pray for Kyiv Theological Seminary! It is a lighthouse in the still challenging spiritual environment. KTS is thirty years old but just a couple years younger than independent country of Ukraine. It became in 1995 and still is its guiding light in the time when evangelicals lost their theological way to tradition and legalism after several generations of ruthless persecution, left without education and qualified leaders. The seminary stood firm in renewed threats of the pro-Muscovite government. KTS still stands tall in the time of grizzly war and disillusionment which constant bombing, death and destruction bring to many people. It is God’s lighthouse which brings light of the best evangelical theology empowered by grand schools of Dallas Theological Seminary and Talbot School of Theology (BIOLA University).

Kyiv Theological Seminary is God’s project made possible by God’s best, most perceptive people, the seminary friends – it demonstrates amazingly high efficiency and stability! Everyone who invests in KTS is astounded by the level of its return to the kingdom of God! Battered by winds and storms of drastic changes in Ukraine and the world, by waves of terrifying historical power, KTS stands firm on the Biblical foundation and readily proclaims Victory and Grace of Jesus Christ in all the circumstances and against all odds. Everyone who cares to look would see undoubtable pedigree of historical Christianity - its best evangelical qualities. A constellation of highly educated and exceptionally qualified teachers, gifted preachers joyfully operate in in the freedom of the Holy Spirit. Their scholarship easily reaches out to secular universities and KTS library is unique collection beyond comparison with any other theological institution in the former USSR. It attracts people from government and leaders from other Christian denominations in Ukraine.

Every time when I walk KTS stairs and halls, I recall David’s words: “I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord." This feeling of God’s presence never leaves me in this marvelously fruitful place. Thousands KTS graduates - pastors, teachers and missionaries – bring the legacy if light and freedom in Christ to the most remote areas of the former USSR and even to wider world.
