Welcome to the MA in Biblical Counseling!

Biblical Counseling is practical theology, personally applied. Making gospel truth practical in the life of a struggling fellow-believer who is facing challenging life circumstances is the essence of making disciples of Jesus Christ. Therefore counseling is not just one of church’s ministries. It is an inseparable part of its mission.

All Christians are called to counsel one another (Rom. 15:14), but pastors have a special responsibility for the care of souls (Heb. 13:17).

That’s the reason our primary focus is on training pastors, elders, deacons, and other Christian leaders, those who have basic theological education and ministry experience. Pastors are called to counsel their own hearts (1 Tim. 4:16) and to equip their members, bringing them to maturity in Christ (Eph. 4:11-13; Col. 1:28).

In understanding our own hearts, those passions that motivate our behaviors (James 4:1-3), we rely completely on the absolute and sufficient authority of the Bible (2 Peter 1:3). No other instrument can penetrate so deeply into a man’s soul, as can the Word of its Creator (Heb. 4:12).

We joyfully look forward to seeing you in our program!
